It’s great to find something a bit different and this army dagger is just that more special and unusual. A virtually identical dagger can be found on page 126 of Tomas Wittmanns army book. This is a very nice army dagger, with orange grip, original bullion knot and a nice set of de-luxe army hangers. It’s not been cleaned in a long while and has a nice patina, especially on the celluloid grip. Scabbard is undamaged and has all the original plating. Whilst this dagger has no maker stamp, but the shape of the eagle and the ornament correspond to the manufacturer Anton Wingen Typ 2.
And it has a full uniform distributors name running along the obverse blade. ‘ Albert Kuhl-Munster-Essen’. As stated in Toms book, the etching states the name plus the fact they had outlets in Munster and Essen. They were a fairly large and well known uniform distributor who supplied edged weapons as part of their service. The blade is in stone mint condition and the etching is perfect.
