The dagger exhibits the maker mark of Puma in Solingen. The gilded hilt fittings exhibit light surface wear, while the crown pommel remains undamaged and in perfect condition. The crossguard features an outward-facing lion head on one side and a spade and pick on the other. The obverse of the crossguard is adorned with the Bulgarian royal crest, while the reverse has a blank panel. The medium orange celluloid grip is flawless, with no damage to the grip or the tightly twisted wire wrap. The plated blade is in excellent condition. Its design mirrors that of the German Army dagger. The leather-covered scabbard is dent-free, showing only light surface wear and 3 small areas where the leather is missing. The gilded scabbard fittings, upper, middle, and lower, are decorated with an oak leaf motif and a silver “rising sun” seal.
