The handle is made of black buffalo horn or dark brown plastic, round, with five raised rims in the center and two rims at the bottom. A cylindrical nut at the top is decorated with a simple geometric pattern.

Blade width: 12 mm.

Overall length: 320 mm.

Length with scabbard: 340 mm.

The scabbard is black leather. The scabbard fittings are brass,

consisting of a ferrule, a buttress, and a tip, decorated with a relief ornament of the Danish coat of arms, an anchor entwined with a rope, and a floral motif. The ferrule may have had an applied brass image of the Danish coat of arms. Two rings are located on the side for attaching a sword belt. The crossguard is figured, flat, with balls at the ends; the nut and crossguard are brass.

The blade is straight, double-edged, with a flat heel up to 1/3 of the blade's length. Earlier examples had a diamond-shaped blade without a heel. Later examples had polished blades, with the maker's or seller's mark etched on the heel.

The lanyard consisted of a loop of thin silver-plated cord and a closed tassel of silver-plated cord.
