A little bit worn blade without fullers, manufacturer or distributor "A. Lüneburg Kiel", brass hilt, closed crown, ivory grip without cracks or breaks, lightning-bolt scabbard with tamp-shaped ring bands, one mouthpiece screw missing, the name "Jöhnke" engraved on the mouthpiece, used, with signs of age, but otherwise in good condition.
Lieutenant Commander Jöhnke was initially watch officer on the S.M.S. von der Tann, from October 1916 with the Naval Airship Division, from March 1917 commander of SL 9, and on March 31, 1917, he died in an air battle over the Bay of Danzig.
Enclosed is the CITES permit for sale, import, and export under the Washington Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora, dated 2025.
