The blade slightly curved with single-edged blade in Pandur style, decorative etching on both sides: bandeau with inscription "V. Pandur" (= Vivat Pandur) above an imaginative depiction of a Pandur as well as suggested military trophies. The hilt fittings of non-ferrous metal, hand-engraved and fire-gilded. The grip hand-carved from an antler, in the style of the period with fine diagonal grooves, dyed green in jade or coral appearance. The pommel cap crowned with a retention rivet at the top. The crossguard at the center with the Prussian royal crown, terminating in S-form into a bird and animal head. On the small shell guard the rising Prussian eagle (still without insignia). On the reverse of the crossguard also the rising Prussian eagle. The scabbard was recovered in old times with brown leather, the brass fittings decoratively engraved, at the top with a compartment for the by-knife and fork, the grips each in the same style as the grip of the hunting hanger. At the top of the scabbard a heart-shaped carrying button. Overall length 65 cm.
Light signs of age and wear, in very fine condition for the age of the weapon.
Certainly an honorary hunting hanger, bestowed by King Frederick the Great to his Master of the Royal and Court Hunt, a beautiful and historic unique piece.
