Rare Railway Protection Leader Dagger in lightweight aluminum construction, Model 1938 – 2nd Type. Total length 39.9 cm. Maker marked Carl Eickhorn, Solingen. A beautifully preserved original piece in MINT condition.
The grip is round with double twisted grooves and made of black Trolon. The ribbing is convex in form, giving it a refined appearance. The separate, rounded pommel features a raised swastika on the top and is made of aluminum. It is tightly screwed onto the tang. At the lower end of the grip sits a smooth grip ring. The slightly curved crossguard displays the winged wheel insignia of the Deutsche Reichsbahn, sloping down towards the ends. All hilt fittings are aluminum and show excellent craftsmanship.
Double-edged, mirror-polished and in mint condition. The tip is original and unshortened. The reverse bears the maker’s mark “Carl Eickhorn Solingen”. Between the blade shoulders and the lower crossguard lies the original leather blade buffer – a distinctive detail of this fine Eickhorn production.
Smooth aluminum scabbard with decorative lower end. It features two ribbed mounts with carrying rings, both fully closed and securely welded. The surface has a uniform brushed finish, free from dents or scratches. 
Completed with matching portepee and hanger with the belt loop (which is rare), all set in Mint condition.
