HJ Hitler Youth Knife in early-period manufacture (1933–1935) with the typical motto “Blood and Honour!”, produced by Carl Eickhorn, Solingen. This is a very early example featuring the early struck maker’s mark used only in 1931-1933 , as found exclusively on knives from the first production year.
Riveted grip plates made of black bakelite with pronounced chequered pattern. In the center of the grip is the Hitler Youth emblem, which is movable—a clear indicator of an original early example and not a later glued replacement. The single-curved crossguard (knebel) is magnetic and firmly seated.
Single-edged blade made of cast steel, originally riveted into the grip. The obverse bears the early, deeply etched HJ motto “Blood and Honour!”, as used up to August 19, 1938. The reverse is stamped with the maker’s mark “Carl Eickhorn, Solingen” in early struck form.
Steel scabbard with original black finish. The carrying system consists of a leather belt loop with double-layered strap, typical for early Hitler Youth knives.
One of the earliest officially made HJ knives, extremely rare to find !
