Early SS service dagger from the production period 1933–1935, manufactured by the scarce producer C. Bertram Reinh. Solingen. On the reverse, the lower crossguard bears the stamped early SS membership number 1570. The overall length is approx. 37.9 cm.
Black wooden grip in typical early configuration. The inset SS runes and the national eagle are period-correct and clamped from the inside. Both crossguards are made of nickel silver. The lower crossguard is stamped on the reverse with the early SS membership number 1570. In addition, the upper crossguard shows a stamped “1”, which is an unusual detail on SS daggers.
The blade is in superb preserved condition and shows a convincing, authentic surface structure. On the front is the etched SS motto “Meine Ehre heißt Treue” in a slightly grainy execution. The reverse bears the maker’s mark of the scarce producer “C. Bertram Reinh. Solingen”. The blade shoulders close cleanly and precisely to the lower crossguard, as is typical for early, high-quality production.
Original iron scabbard with black blued finish. The fittings are made of nickel silver and are secured laterally with two small screws each. The upper fitting carries the closed suspension ring typical of early examples.
Later-added SS hanger in black leather, in functional condition. The snap hook is marked Assmann, DRGM, and RZM M5/8.
